Funeral services were held at the Welch church over the remains of E. D. Jones last Saturday at 1:30 p.m. Mr. Jones had been in poor health for some time, but the illness did not take a serious turn till about two weeks ago. The sufferer passed away at his home on the out-skirts of town last week Thursday, surrounded by his family. The remains were laid in their last resting place in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Jones was a consistent Christian, a good neighbor, and esteemed by all who knew him. His family have the sympathy of all.

Transcriber’s Note: There is an Evan D. Jones buried at Pleasant Hill – born 4/3/1812 and died 3/26/1896.
