Pauline Hubka, age 82, of Protivin, IA, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2016, at Hawkeye Care Center in Cresco, IA.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 17, 2016, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Protivin, IA. Burial will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery Protivin, IA. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, May 16, at Hindt-Hudek Funeral Home, 123 North Main Street, Protivin, IA 52163, with a scripture service at 6:45 p.m. Visitation will continue an hour prior to the time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.

Pauline Irene Pecinovsky was born October 17, 1933, daughter of Carl and Clara (Martinek) Pecinovsky in Cresco, IA. She was a 1951 graduate from Rudolphinum High School in Protivin, IA. From 1951-1958, Pauline worked as a nurses aid at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester, MN. On August 19, 1958, Pauline was united in marriage to Edward Hubka at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Protivin. Pauline enjoyed being a farm wife, raising chickens, ducks, and rabbits. She also worked at Wapsie Produce. Pauline had a great sense of humor and loved giving people a hard time. If ever in need of reference, Pauline was always there with information. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

Surviving Pauline are her children, Dean (Shirley) Hubka of Cresco, IA, Debra (Richard) Mackin of Manly, IA, and Mary (John) Shimek of Ridgeway, IA; 6 grandchildren, Bryan (Becki) Hubka, Kelley (Gavin) Carman, Michael Mackin, Marissa Mackin, Tim (Courtney) Shimek, and Amber (Kyle) McCarville; 9 great grandchildren, McKenna, Cameron, Paxton, and Aspyn Hubka, Lauren and Reagan Carman, Lucas and Addy Shimek, and Bria McCarville who shared a very special birthday with her great grandma; sister-in-law, Marlene Pecinovsky; Special friend, Bea Taylor; and riding companions, Elva Shimek and Clara Pecinovsky.

Preceding her in death are her parents, husband, Edward on April 6, 2009, brothers, Donald F. Pecinovsky and Arthur C. Pecinovsky, and sister, Abbie M. Novak.
