God called Tressa Albert to her home in Heaven on Tuesday, April 26, 2016. She was 99 years of age and was living her 100th year – a goal she had always set for herself.

Tressa Ilene (Tibbals) Albert was born to Curtis and Emma (Begeman) Tibbals in Lennox, South Dakota on January 28, 1917. At the tender age of 3 months the family moved to Lime Springs, Iowa. Tressa finished her sophomore year in high school at which time she stayed home to help her parents. She obtained her GED at the age of 60. She was very proud of completing this.

Tressa was united in marriage to Lorraine W. Albert on November 20, 1940 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. They were blessed with four children. They spent many years on their farm in rural Lime Springs before retiring from farming and purchasing their home in Lime Springs. Over the years Tressa had several jobs and activities including owning the Lime Springs Thrift Store, selling Avon products, being a waitress in a restaurant, playground supervisor at the school, and was a member of the Birthday Club. She was a very social lady & enjoyed having friends over for coffee & goodies she had baked in her kitchen. Tressa's faith played a major role in her life. She was a member of the UMW of Lime Springs Methodist Church and led the Sunday service several times in the absence of the pastor. Tressa's family was of utmost importance to her, always wanting her children to stay close by and treasuring her grandchildren. Her children & grandchildren will always hold her dear to their hearts as they could not have asked for a better Mother & Grandmother.

Tressa is survived by her daughers: Linda (Jim) Belken of Alden, Iowa and Patty (Larry) Houdek of Cresco, Iowa; seven grandchildren: Mark Stevenson, David Houdek, Laurie Stevenson, Kelly (Houdek) Biastre, Matthew Albert, Andrea Albert & Teresa Albert; ten great-grandchiildren; two sisters-in-law: Beth Samuelson and Shirley Tibbals and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lorraine; two sons: John Albert and Joe Albert; her parents; five siblings: Effie Morris, Edith Alberts, Frances Poppenga, Clarice Crouse & Curtis Tibbals.
