GEORGE WENTHOLD
Cresco, Ia. – Special: Funeral services will be held here Thursday morning at St. Joseph’s Church for George Wenthold, 25, who died Tuesday at Mercy Hospital following an operation for ulcers. He had been ill since Thursday.
The Rev. J. Kirk, assistant pastor, will officiate at the requiem mass. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Mr. Wenthold was born May 15, 1914 at Festina, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Wenthold. He was the youngest of a family of 12. The same year he moved with his parents to Cresco where he spent his entire life. He worked as a farm hand and up to the time of his illness, was employed at the Elmer Henkes farm.
His father died seven years ago.
Besides his mother, he is survived by the folowing{sp} brothers and sisters: Joseph of Knoxville, Clem, Fred, Louis, Lawrence, Mrs. Carl Rink, Mrs. Charles Burgess, and Mrs. Otto Zotika, all of Cresco; Andrew of Canton, Minn., Mrs. William Timp of Calmar, and Mrs. George Malek of Schley.
The pallbearers will be: Elmer Henkes, John Zotika, Leo Balk, Alois Slifka, Wilfred Herold, and John Leferink.
