Funeral at Decorah of Ada Roberts, 86

Funeral services for Ada Marie Roberts, 86, of Decorah,, were Thursday, July 12, 1990, at 11 a.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Decorah. Officiating Clergyman was the Rev. Paul Hasvold. Organist was Connie Bolson, accompanying congregational singing. French and Balik Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements, with burial at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Lime Springs. Pallbearers were Tom Miller, David Roberts, James A. Roberts, James D. Roberts, Richard Roberts and Merton Westfall.
Ada Marie Schahn was born Sept. 10, 1903, in Howard County, the daughter of Henry and Bertha (Madaus) Schahn. She was baptized and confirmed at the Congregational Church in Riceville, and she attended Howard County schools. She married Dewey Roberts, Jan. 8, 1927, in Cresco, and he preceded her in death in 1985. They farmed in Lime Springs until moving to Waterville in 1951. She made her home briefly in Waukon and then moved to Decorah. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Mrs. Roberts died July 9, 1990, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minn., following a short illness.
Survivors include two children, Lorna Jones of Des Moines and Lola Christianson of St. Paul, Minn.; five grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers (Lloyd and Lenn Schahn), and by two sisters (Lila Frost and Rena Schahn).
