Lee “Champ” Kintz, 74, of Cresco, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at the Gunderson Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse, Wis.
Lee Clark Kintz was born on March 22, 1936, the son of Clark and Beatrice (Harold) Kintz. Lee was raised on the family farm west of Chester, Iowa. He graduated from Chester and continued to live there, working at the mill in Chester and Lime Springs. He resided at the Howard Residential Care Facility for the past 21 years.
Survivors include three brothers; Craig (Virginia) of Leesburg, Va., Damon (Roylene) of Cresco and Jerry (Corinne) of Alexandria, Va.; a stepmother, Mamie Kintz of Austin, Minn.; a stepbrother, Rick (Jenny) Hall of Austin, Minn.; two stepsisters, Darlene Koch of Austin, Minn. and Sharon (Joe) Stephani of Pine City, Minn.; six nieces and one nephew; and his loving family at the Howard Residential Care Facility.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one stepbrother, Leroy Hall.
Memorials may be directed to the Howard County Residential Care Facility.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at First Lutheran Church in Cresco at 11:00 a.m. Friends may call at the Lindstrom Funeral Home in Cresco from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Monday, and also one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will take place at 1:30 p.m. at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Lime Springs, following services at the church on Tuesday.
