Rose Ann Valvoda, age 77, of Cresco, IA, died Sunday, January 17, 2016, at Patty Elwood Center in Cresco, IA.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 23, 2016, at Notre Dame Parish in Cresco, IA. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery Cresco, IA. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, January 22, at Hindt-Hudek Funeral Home, with a scripture service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue an hour prior to the time of service Saturday at the church.

Rose Ann Ollendick was born on August 26, 1938, in Cresco, IA daughter of Frank and Anna (Drewes) Ollendick. On December 27, 1965, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in LeRoy, MN, Rose Ann married Marvin Valvoda. They moved to the Valvoda family farm near Schley, IA. Rose Ann worked for several years at the Tower Club as a waitress, and liked to plan bus trips to casinos and live theater. She was very active within Notre Dame Parish and Red Hat Society. Rose Ann was a warm and friendly person. She enjoyed socializing and going to dances with friends.

Surviving Rose Ann is her daughter Maxine (Ed) Gerber of Cresco, IA, grandsons Derrick Andersen of Spring Hill, Florida, and Damon Andersen of Waterloo, IA, and her sister Arlene Jensen of Austin, MN.

Preceding her in death are her parents, husband Marvin in October 1998, a sister Jane Behnks, and brothers Leonard Ollendick, and Jack Ollendick
