Funeral services for Clara Parchman, 71, retired Cresco school teacher, were held at the Cresco Immanuel Lutheran church Friday afternoon.

Miss Parchman took her own life in her home. Her body was found by a neighbor last Tuesday afternoon. She was somewhat depressed and worried about her health the past two years.

Conducting the funeral services was the pastor, the Rev. E. C. Franke. Burial was in the New Oregon cemetery with the Bradley Funeral home in charge of the funeral arrangements.

Miss Parchman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Parchman, was born in Fillmore county, Minnesota, November 22, 1894. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and for many years was an active member of the Immanuel Lutheran church, having taught Sunday school for several years. At the time of her death she was a member of the Lydia Circle.

Miss Parchman was a grade school teacher for 45 years, retiring about three years ago. She taught at Clarksville, Tipton, the Nichols school district at Cresco, and in the West side school here. For three years Mrs. Parchman stayed with her mother and cared for her.

Surviving Miss Parchman are one brother, Henry Parchman of Cresco, and three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Hass of Tucson, Arizona, Mrs. Augusta Miller of St. Paul, and Mrs. Edgar Bigalk of Cresco.

Preceding Miss Parchman in death were her parents and one brother, Charles.
