Anna Lucile Jones, 91 of Lime Springs, Iowa passed away on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at the Cresco Care Center in Cresco, Iowa.
Lucile was born on May 18, 1919 in Lime Springs to Henry and Mary (Evans) Meyers. She attended local country school. She graduated from the Lime Springs High School. She then attended college in Cedar Falls, Iowa, where she studied teaching. Following her education, she taught country schools for 25 years and also the first grade in Lime Springs for nine years. She always enjoyed making contacts with former students throughout the years. She belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary, the U.M.W., and the Cedar Valley Retired School Personnel Association.
She married Otto Ewy; he later passed away. Then, on June 21, 1969, she married Vernon Jones. She was a very faithful and loving wife. Together Vernon and Lucile enjoyed dancing and doing Ole and Lena skits. Lucile lived her entire life in Lime Springs.
She is survived by her husband Vernon, several nieces, nephews, cousins, as well as many brothers and sisters-in-law.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Otto in 1967, as well as brothers and sisters-in-law.
Funeral services were held on Monday, December 27, 2010 at the Lime Springs United Methodist Church in Lime Springs. Burial will be in the spring time at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Lime Springs.
