Ilah Lenore Emerson, 91, died peacefully in her own home on Sunday, May 23, 2010.
Born on April 27, 1919, in Lime Springs, Iowa, she was the daughter of Samuel and Esther (Phillips) Roberts and was very proud of her Welsh heritage.
Ilah was a resident of Des Moines for over 70 years and was a longtime member of Central Presbyterian Church. She was united in marriage to Merle F. Emerson, and they were together for over 55 years.
Ilah is survived by her daughter, Gay (Tom) Ross of Des Moines. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Merle F. Emerson.
The family was to greet friends at Hamilton’s Funeral Home. The funeral service and burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to Central Presbyterian Church in loving memory of Ilah.
