Mrs. Louisa Miles who had been a resident of this county for the past forty years, died at her home in Cresco last Friday, aged about fifty-six years. The maiden name was Taft. In the early days of the settlement of the county she was married to John O. Miles, who preceded her some years ago to the better land. Several children were born to them, mostly residing in other parts.

Abe Upton and wife came out from Chicago to attend the funeral of Mrs. Miles, the mother of Mrs. Upton.
