Margaret “Peg” Rouchka, age 90, of Cresco, IA, died Saturday, October 10, 2015, at home in Cresco, IA.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 14, 2015, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church Lourdes, IA. Burial will be in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery. Visitation will be held 3:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 13, at Hindt-Hudek Funeral Home 404 N Elm Street Cresco, IA, with a scripture service at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will continue an hour prior to the time of service Wednesday at the church.

Margaret “Peg” Lienhard was born on July 12, 1925, daughter of Otto and Persis (DeNoyelles) Lienhard. On November 6, 1945, she married Joe Rouchka at Assumption Church in Cresco, he preceded her in death on August 10, 1998.

Margaret graduated with the Cresco High School class of 1943. She worked at Cresco Union Savings Bank until her marriage to Joe in 1945. They farmed in the Lourdes area until moving to Cresco in 1988. Margaret was a woman of faith who recited the rosary daily. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and the Lourdes Altar Rosary Society. After moving to Cresco she joined Notre Dame Parish. Margaret served on the board of directors at Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Elma, took communion to Evans Home, volunteered at Cresco Care Center, and belonged to the Happy Hookers Crochet Club. She also was a flower and garden club member and card club member.

Margaret was a wonderful cook. Many friends and relatives looked forward to eating her poppy seed cake. She enjoyed sports and watching the Minnesota Twins baseball games. Joe and Margaret traveled with the bank sponsored trips. When Joe passed away Margaret began traveling with her daughter Judy. They traveled to Ireland, England, Switzerland, Germany, Wales, and Scotland.

Margaret is survived by her daughter Judith Ann of Cresco, brother Otto Lienhard of Waterloo, IA, sisters-in-law Marion Rouchka and Mary Rouchka, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents Otto and Persis Lienhard, husband Joe, father and mother-in-law Joe and Christina Rouchka, sister-in-law Shirley Lienhard, brothers-in-law Chester Rouchka and Lester Rouchka, sister-in-law Mary (Merril) Benson, and brother-in-law Albert (Emma) Myer.
