Cedar Rapids, IOWA - Mabel Price Hunnicutt died on July 15, 2015, at her home in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, at the age of 89.

She was born on Dec. 30, 1925, in Lime Springs, Iowa, the daughter of Thomas and Florence (Jones) Price. She attended and graduated from Lime Springs Public Schools in 1944, and graduated from Coe College. She started her elementary teaching career in Alburnett, Iowa, taught in several Army base communities and Cresco Public Schools and ended her career with the Cedar Rapids Public Schools.

She married John Junior Jones in 1950, and to this union a son, Jeffrey Neal Jones, was born. She later divorced. On June 23, 1969, she married Mark Hunnicutt, who later died in February 1994.

She is preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey, on Jan. 13, 2015; husband, Mark; her parents; two brothers, Edwin and Tudor; two sisters-in-law, Edythe Price and Eunice Price Roisum; and one brother-in-law, William J Jones. She is survived by her sister, Evelyn Jones, of Harmony, Minn.; a granddaughter, Tabatha; infant great-granddaughter; and four nieces and three nephews.
