Ralph Pecinovsky, 88, of Protivin, IA passed away Friday, July 3, 2015, in Mason City, IA at Mercy Medical Center.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 9, 2015 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Father Nick March officiating. Burial will take place in the Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 8, 2015, at the Hindt-Hudek Funeral Home, 123 North Main St. in Protivin, IA, with a rosary recital at 4:15 p.m. and a scripture wake service held at 6:30 p.m. His family will continue greeting guests at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
Ralph Charles Pecinovsky was born June 17, 1927, to Joe and Anna Pecinovsky in Howard County, IA. He attended Rudolphinum School until the 8th grade. On June 19, 1951, Ralph was united in marriage to Dolores Fisher in Spillville, IA at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. Ralph started farming right after school and farmed on the home farm his entire life. When Ralph wasn’t farming he enjoyed shooting pool, playing cards, fishing with his grandsons, flexing his green thumb in the garden, and later on giving his great grandchildren rides on his electric wheelchair.
Ralph is survived by his wife of 64 years, Dolores; daughter, Cindy Larson of Decorah, IA and her children, Susie (Ryan Huinker) Larson of Festina, IA, Katie (Kyle) Stika of Protivin and their children, Bella, Kole, and Josie, and Steve (fiancé Malory Hartong) Larson of Decorah, IA and their son, Tate and Ralph’s son, Ron (Valerie) Pecinovsky of Protivin, IA and children, Tom and Tim Pecinovsky of Protivin and step grandsons, Scott and James Thorne of Decorah, IA; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Vrba of Protivin, IA and Peggy (Gene) Reicks of Spillville, IA; brother-in-law, Jim (Joanne) Fisher of Spillville, IA; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding Ralph in death are his parents, Joe and Anna, son-in-law, Norman “Nope” Larson, sisters, Adella (John) Martinek, Evelyn (Bill) Pecinovsky, Sophia (Chuck) Busta, brothers, Joe (Mildred) Pecinovsky and Ray in infancy, sister-in-law, Elaine (Myles) Rommes, and brother-in-law, Alton “Fuzzy” Vrba.
