Shirley M. Zobeck, age 87 of Lime Springs, IA passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2015 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN.
Funeral services for Shirley will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, June 26, 2015 at United Lutheran Church in Chester, IA with Pastor Dan Christensen officiating. Burial will follow the funeral services at Saratoga Cemetery in rural Lime Springs.
Visitation for Shirley’s family will be from 4:00-7:00 PM on Thursday, June 25, 2015 at Conway-Markham Funeral Home in Elma, IA and will continue at the church one hour prior to the funeral services on Friday. Shirley Mae was born on September 25, 1927 to Henry and Mayme (Boehmer) Ross in Westgate, IA. She attended and graduated Oran High School in Oran, IA. After graduating, Shirley moved to New Hampton where she worked at various jobs. She was united in marriage to Dale Zobeck on June 10, 1948 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. The couple made their home in the Chester-Saratoga area where they farmed together and raised their four children, Nancy, Gary, Marc and Ann. She enjoyed going to the Cresco Fair, playing Bingo and cards and dancing. Her homemade pancakes were a favorite when her grandchildren visited.
Shirley is survived by her children; Nancy Zobeck-Taylor of Ennis, TX; Gary (Sharon) Zobeck of Elma, IA and Marc Zobeck of Lime Springs, IA; her grandchildren; Miranda (Michael Kozak) Zobeck of New London, IA; Jessie (Noelle) Zobeck of Rudd, IA; Sabra Williamson of Ennis, TX; Brandi (Jason) Panos of Elma, IA; Jakob Zobeck of Cresco, IA and Trinity Zobeck of Elma, IA; her great-grandchildren, Brenden, Bailee, Carter, Reggie, Christian, Ember and Henley; her brother-in-law; John Zobeck of New Hampton, IA; sister-in-law, Dorothy Bartles of Rochester, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dale Zobeck; her daughter, Ann Zobeck; her four brothers, Joe, Paul, Willis “Bud” and Merle Ross and two sisters, Lois Ross and Betty Wedemeier.
