DIED

FINLAYSON, March 7th, at her home, in this city, Mrs. Agatha Helen Keith Finlayson, aged 20 years 9 months.

The sudden death will shock a large portion of our community, who will be surprised to read the demise of this most estimable lady.

The cause of death was general paralysis following injury to the spinal cord from a fall some five weeks since.

While coming from her husband’s office one afternoon, in company with her sister, she had her two-year-old son in her arms, when the heavy door swung back and caught her dress, precipitating her off the platform down the steps. With the maternal instinct she wound her arms around the child, and among other bruises she received an injury to the spine. She thought it would get better from day to day, but on the 2d of month Dr. Finlayson, who had Dr. Price as counsel, telegraped{sp} for her father, Dr. M. C. Keith of Bellville, Ohio. The father was here in less than thirty hours after the message reached him; but the lady was unconsious {sp} and remained so, steadily losing ground from the very first, until death relieved her of suffering. She leaves an only son and a husband who have our earnest sympathy in this, their great bereavement.

She was buried from the Episcopal church, of which she was a life-long and earnest member, on the following Wednesday.

Mrs. Finlayson was born near New Orleans Louisiana, June 9th, 1872, which would make her 20 years 8 months and 26 days old.
