Helen P. Fair, age 93 of Elma, IA passed away peacefully in Rochester, MN on Saturday, May 16, 2015 surrounded by her children.

Helen Pauline was born in Alta Vista, Iowa on October 26, 1921 to Joseph and Rose (Stalzer) Frantzen. She was one of 10 children. She attended St. William’s School in Alta Vista. On March 1, 1943 Helen married the love of her life, Wallace W. Fair at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Alta Vista. The couple farmed north of Elma, where they raised their six children. They were married for 70 years and set a loving example for their children.

Helen enjoyed quilting, crocheting, playing piano, fishing and dancing with Wally to big band music. She and Wally traveled and made many happy memories with friends and family. She was a loving and caring daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Helen is survived by her children, Joyce (Dan) Regan of Charlotte, NC, Leo (Janet) Fair of Bloomington, MN, Linda (Peter) Parshley of Lonsdale, MN, Marylee (Francis) Campion of Oronoco, MN and Jean (Herbert Brust) Nelson of Trego, WI; 18 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Alfreda Tozzi of Arlington Heights, IL.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace, son, Patrick, as well as her parents, three brothers John Frantzen, Leonard Frantzen, Joe Frantzen, five sisters Marie Hilsman, Dorthy Reynolds, Bernice Maruska, Joan Larson and Olivia Ralph.
