Funeral services for Robert P. “Bob” Orum will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday May 26 at the Le Roy Lutheran Church with the Rev Herman Bakker officiating. Burial will be in the Le Roy Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-7 P.M. on Monday May 25, at the Hindt Funeral Home in LeRoy and will continue for 1 hr prior to the service at the church.

Bob Orum, age 93, of Le Roy died Thursday May 21, at Wildwood Grove Care facility in Le Roy, MN. He was born March 17, 1922 in Cresco, IA to Paul and Grayce (Powers). Bob attended school through the 8th grade and joined the United States Army Air Corp in 1942. He served in the Army Air Corp until 1945. On June 5, 1943 he was united in marriage to June Roesler at the Lutheran Parsonage in Cresco, IA and to this union 5 children were born; Ron, Barb, Gail, Don and Craig.

Bob farmed in the Chester and LeRoy area for many years, he also hauled eggs for Mendelson and Halling out of Le Roy and operated the mill at the Le Roy Co-Op. In 1960 Bob and June purchased the Sweet Shop in Le Roy owning it until the early 1980’s.

Bob enjoyed making yard art, collecting license plates and hub caps. He could fix almost anything and enjoyed family drives in the country.
He is survived by his wife June of Le Roy, daughters; Barb (Steve) Milburn of Rochester and Gail (Donovan) Dahlby of Northwood, IA, sons; Don (Judy) Orum of LeRoy and Craig Orum of Detroit Lakes, MN, a daughter-in-law Linda Orum of Jacksonville, FL, 13 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, sisters; Bonnie McFarlane of LeRoy and Eleanor (Bill) Ortman of Emmetsburg, IA, brothers; Manley (Norma) Orum of Waterloo, IA, Don (Betty) Orum of Palm Desert, CA, Earl (Bev) Orum of Walnut Creek, CA, and Dale (Pat) Orum of Waterloo, IA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 son Ron Orum, a grandson Todd Timmerman and 6 sisters; Gladys, Doris, Ruth, Norma, Nell and Marie.
