ST. GEORGE, UTAH - A memorial service for Royce J. Wentworth of St. George, Utah will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Bear Creek Lutheran Church in Grand Meadow, Minn. with Pastor Larry Iverson officiating.

Royce, 88, died on Friday, March 6, 2015.

Royce Jerome Wentworth was born July 31, 1926, the son of George and Isabel (Enright) Wentworth.

On July 3, 1949, he married Geraldine Ellen Milne at the Little Brown Church, Nashua, Iowa. Gerri passed away May 16, 1998, and he later married Helen H. Perkins of St. George, Utah, on Nov. 4, 2000.

Royce was raised in Lime Springs, Iowa and graduated from Lime Springs High School. Upon graduation he served in the United States Navy, being discharged in 1947. He moved to Griswold, Iowa to work in the local bakery and met Gerri. He then moved to Cresco, Iowa in 1951 to work in the Wright Bakery. He purchased Hawkeye Sanitation, retiring from the business in the early nineties.

He served in World War II. He was active in the Cresco American Legion, receiving his 60 year pin, volunteer fireman, and served on the Cresco Country Club board.

He enjoyed flying. After retirement, he and Gerri moved to St. George, Utah, to enjoy his passion of golf. Love for golf and the outdoors was so strong. He touched so many people with his kindness, and love for all. He had a quick wit, zest for life, a great sense of humor, and an ability to make friends no matter where he went.

Royce is survived by his wife, Helen of St. George; two daughters: Nancie (Leonard) Jacobson and Jill (Ed) Roberts, both of Grand Meadow, Minn.; five wonderful grandchildren: Nathan (Danielle) Jacobson of Redwood Falls, Minn., Nicole (Bill) Winfield of LeRoy, Minn., Niles Jacobson of Rochester, Minn., Natasha (Jason) Campbell of Maple Grove, Minn., and Jayden Roberts of Grand Meadow; and 15 great-grandchildren.
