Cresco- Funeral services for Carl W. Sullivan, 59, were at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Cresco Methodist church; Rev. George W. Turner, pastor, officiated; burial was in New Oregon cemetery, south of Cresco; Mr. Sullivan died in the Cresco hospital Sunday; he suffered a heart attack in his home a week previous; was born at Hiteman, Ia., Feb 22, 1891, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles W. Sullivan; lived there and Ottumwa until 1903, when he moved with his parents to Pierre, S.D.; was married there to Miss Julie M. Madsen, Oct. 21, 1915; from 1922 to 1937 he was a city mail carrier and clerk in the Pierre postoffice; from there he came to Cresco and for the past 13 years had been a rural mail carrier out of the Cresco postoffice; is survived by wife; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles W. Sullivan, Eddyville; a son, Donald, Pierre, S.D.; a daughter, Mrs. W. C. Stettbacher, Peoria, Ill.; three grandchildren; three brothers, Thomas A. Sullivan, Washington, D.C.; Gordon H., Helena, Mont.; James B., Harbor Beach, Mich.; and two sisters, Mrs. B. A. Richardson, Huron, S.D., and Miss Grace Sullivan, Eddyville.
