Obituary:
Geneva I. Prinz was born March 23, 1928 in Lime Springs to Lucius and Laura (Monthy) Roesler. Geneva attended grade school and High School in Lime Springs, graduating in 1946. The family attended the Lutheran Church where she and her brother Kenneth were confirmed. A favorite family activity was driving to Rochester on Saturdays where they just looked around and had something to eat. Most of their activities centered around their church. All during high school and college, Geneva was a hired girl at her Grandma’s house on weekends and during the summers. At school, she enjoyed the sports activities, being a forward on the basketball team and playing softball. She just enjoyed school in general. After graduating from high school, Geneva attended Wartburg College for two years. She taught first and second grade in various places: Waverly, Clear Lake and later received her B.A. degree by taking summer school classes for several years. The Lutheran Church played a big part in her life, as she and Arthur Prinz were married there and attended during their married life. She and Art remained companions for the rest of their lives. Shortly after they were married, Art left for the service, serving in the Army in Germany during WWII. When he returned, they lived on the farm where she kept busy helping with field work, having a large garden, raising pigs, chickens and ducks. Ladies Aid was a big part of her life along with being a 1st Responder for many years as well as being a member of her church’s Ruth Circle; she also liked to read, attend activities, watch TV and visit with friends a relatives who came to visit. Geneva is survived by a cousin Bernard (Betty) Roesler of Lime Springs, IA; a lifelong special friend, Geralda Kimbal of California; and many special friends including Julia Timmerman, Wanda Knutson and Pat and Harold Ackley. She is preceded in death by Art Prinz and her brother Kenneth Roesler.
