CEDAR FALLS - Services for Elsie M. Ford of Cedar Falls, Iowa were held on Thursday, Oct. 9, 2014 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Cedar Falls. Interment was held in Greenwood Cemetery in Cedar Falls.

Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home in Cedar Falls handled the arrangements.

Elsie, 85, died Saturday, Oct. 4, 2014 at Unity Point-Allen Hospital in Waterloo.

Elsie Marie Ford was born May 12, 1929, in Protivin, Iowa, the daughter of Joseph and Anna (Pizinger) Komarek. Elsie was a 1947 graduate of Rudolphinum High School in Protivin.

On July 12, 1949, she married Erwin Ford in Protivin. He died on July 27, 1999.

Elsie is survived by six sons: Dale (Heidi) Ford of Eagan, Minn., Roy (Tina) Ford, Danny (Nancy) Ford, Randy (Sheila K.) Ford and Darwin Ford, all of Cedar Falls, and Roland (Sheila M.) Ford of Denver, Iowa; two daughters: Julie Baker of Cedar Falls and Jolene (Bob) Pierson of Waterloo; 17 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Elsie was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter: Linda Ford; two great-grandsons; her parents; two sisters: Georgene Pecinovsky and Marcie Lukes; and a son-in-law: George Baker.
