David “Dave” Bouska, age 70, of Protivin, IA, formerly of Ridgeway, IA, died on Friday, October 10, 2014, at his home.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, October 18, at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Protivin, IA, with Rev. Nick March presiding. Burial will be in the Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery, Protivin, IA.

Friends may call from 3:00 – 7:00p.m., on Friday, October 17, at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Protivin, and also after 9:30 a.m. on Saturday.

David Jude Bouska, was born on October 17, 1943, the son of Daniel and Leone (O’Brien) Bouska, in Cresco, IA. Dave graduated from Rudolphinum High School in 1961 and then enlisted in the US Army. After completing his basic training, he spent three years in Germany. He received an honorable discharge. He was united in marriage to Patricia Soukup on April 27, 1968, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Spillville, IA, which was the same anniversary of Pat’s parents. He worked at Oliver/White Corporation in Charles City, IA, until it closed. Dave was employed by Fencl Oil Company and then moved to Pat’s farm near Ridgeway, where they farmed. Dave enjoyed taking rides on his golf cart, he loved his desserts, especially chocolate, listening to Polka music, playing cards, watching sporting events, and most of all spending time with his family, friends and his grandchildren. Dave was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church and the Tri-County American Legion Post #605, in Protivin, IA.

Dave is survived by his wife of 46 years Pat Bouska, Protivin, IA. Three children: Chanda (Lance) Mooney, Marion, IA; Kara (Kevin) Koch, Wellington, FL; Casey (Laurie) Bouska, Ridgeway, IA. Five grandchildren: Lexi and Jacob Mooney, Sophia, T.J. and Nicole Koch. Seven Siblings: Mary Lee McGee, Indian Land, SC; Steve (Sherry) Bouska, Ridgeway, IA; James Bouska, Protivin, IA; Joe (Mary Beth) Bouska, Decorah, IA; Tom (Marcia) Bouska, Council Bluffs, IA; Joan (John) Rohret, Conrad, IA; Terry (Janice) Bouska, Protivin, IA, along with many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents: Daniel and Leone (O’Brien) Bouska. His father and mother-in-law: Arnold and Grace (Hruska) Soukup.
