Obituary.
Mrs. Nancy Farrington, born in Plattsburg, N. Y. January 17, 1836. Died at Lime Springs, Iowa, Feby 26, 1887, in the 51 year of her age.
In early life she was converted and grew up in the church. She was among the first in every good word and work and especially noted and beloved for her cheerful disposition, She was devoted to her family and her church and lived most worthily in both of these relations. Her death was peaceful and triumphant as her trust in God had been steadfast and delightful.
She was married to Mr. C. L. Farrington, March 20, 1853, who preceded her but a short time before, to the heavenly land. For about 34 years they shared the joys and sorrows of life together and were not separated but six weeks ere they met in glory—the blessed region where they are “like unto the angels.”
The church and a wide circle of friends mourn her loss and most deeply sympathise with the two “doubly afflicted sons,” Mr. W. C. and E. L. Farrington, who survive their parents. But thanks be unto God, they mourn not as those who have no consolation for in the death of father and mother they are comforted by the memory of their consistent lives. Sister Farrington’s funeral services were conducted at Lime Springs, by Rev. J. M. Ferris of Decorah, assisted by Rev. J. M. Kepple of Lime Springs.
