Corwin Ellis Goodman was born December 26, 1925 to Paul and Mabel (Cory) Goodman in Marshalltown, Iowa. In 1927 the family moved to a farm six miles west of Lime Springs. He attended country school in Chester Township and the 9th grade in Lime Springs. He served in the US Marine Corps from 1946 to 1948 at Camp Pendleton, California. Corwin was united in marriage to Carolyn Scheevel of Cherry Grove, Minnesota on June 23, 1952. To this union were born three children: Allen, Michael, and Marie. Carolyn passed away in November of 1959. Corwin was united in marriage to Anita Brandt of Denver, Iowa on Sept 1, 1961. To this union were born two more children: Brian and Doris. Corwin was also known by many friends as ‘Corky’. After serving in the Marine Corps, he worked various jobs prior to farming in Howard County in the early 1950’s. In 1995 he retired from farming and moved to Cresco. Corwin was an active member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Lime Springs and later the Saratoga Presbyterian Church. He served as Sunday School Superintendent, trustee and elder. Corwin was a board member of the Howard County Farm Bureau, he served on the Howard County Extension Council and served on the board of the Howard County Experimental Farm. Corwin is survived by his wife, Anita of Cresco; his children: Allen (Donna) Goodman of Rocky Ford, CO, Michael (Suzanne) Goodman of Ventura, CA, Marie (Randy) Hinz of Lexington, SC, Brian (Connie) Goodman of Lime Springs, IA and Doris (Mark) Brosz of Andover, KS; nine grandchildren: Aaron Goodman, Michael (Amy) Goodman, Brian (Jolynn) Hinz, Jennifer (Kevin) McIver, Laura Goodman, John Brosz, Matthew Goodman, Elizabeth Brosz and Sharon Goodman; eight great-grandchildren: Meaghan, Connor, Logan, Maggie, Anderson, Caleb, Katelyn and Emily; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents: Paul and Mabel; his first wife, Carolyn; and three sisters: Dorothy Steinert, Doris Patridge and Alice Dieken.

Memorials:
Memorials are suggested to the Midwest Bible Training Center in Cresco, Iowa.

Visitation:
5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, September 8, 2014 at the Lindstrom Funeral Home in Cresco, Iowa.

Service:
11:00 am on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at the Saratoga Presbyterian Church, 10194 Howard Ave.

Cemetery:
at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Lime Springs, Iowa
