Walter C. Lacy a former resident of Cresco and one of its best known and most universally loved and respected young men died in Chicago on Saturday last of consumption and his remains were brought to Cresco on Tuesday for interment. Walter was a noble hearted, true man in all the relations of life, ambitious to do well, and to earn and retain the respect, confidence and esteem of the good and the true. For more than two years he has fought consumption inch by inch, never losing hope until the day before he passed away. His wife was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Fobes of this place. A little over one year ago they buried their only child, and now by its side she has deposited the remains of her husband, to whom she was devotedly attached.
