Donald F. Capouch, age 84, of Cresco, Iowa passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at Cresco Care Center.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Notre Dame Catholic Church in Cresco, Iowa. Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held 9:00 to 12:00 p.m. Saturday, June 21, 2014 at the church. Hindt-Hudek Funeral Home, 404 North Elm Street, Cresco, IA, is in charge of arrangements.
Donald Francis “Don” Capouch was born at home in Howard County on May 7, 1930, son of Frank and Abbie (Kosthryz) Capouch. He was a 1948 graduate from Cresco High School. On February 5, 1955, Don married Rita Kuboushek. For many years Don farmed by Schley, Iowa, where he and Rita raised their family. Along with farming crops and livestock, Don also was a cattle buyer traveling to area sale barns. Don owned the Capouch Store in Schley for 2 ½ years. After moving in to Cresco, Don drove coast to coast for Unthun Trucking Company for 5 years. Don enjoyed being with his family, watching his grandchildren in sports, playing cards, pool, and trying his luck at the casino. He had a great love for polka music, and getting to know the person sitting next to him.
Surviving Don is his wife of 59 years Rita of Cresco, IA, his children Gary (Bonnie) Capouch of Ettrick, WI, Larry (Shawn) Capouch of Blair, WI, Sharon (Kenneth) Harrington of St. Michael, MN, Brian Capouch of Solon, IA, Sandra Capouch of Nashville, TN, and Marilyn (Robert) Campbell of Decorah, IA, 18 grandchildren Courtney, McKenzie, and Lee Capouch, Jason, Ryan, and Joey Capouch, Chastity Casey, Joni Scott, Tia and Eric Elliott, and Kirsten Harrington, Shelby and Jared Capouch, Sean and Morgan Brown, Benjamin and Shannon Freidhof, and Leslie Campbell, 6 great grandchildren Samantha, Austyn, Emerie Capouch, Charlotte Casey, Adyson Scott, and Carter Elliott.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Judy Brown in 2006, father and mother-in-law Joe and Regina Kuboushek, and sister Helen Gryska.Source: Hindt-Hudek Funeral Home database
