Linda M. Knecht, age 54 of Elma, IA passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2014 at Floyd County Medical Center in Charles City, IA.

Linda Marie Knecht was born on September 23, 1959 to Arnold and Helen “Veronica” (Fangman) Knecht in New Hampton. She grew up the youngest of six children on the family farm near Elma. She attended school in New Hampton. After receiving her education, Linda worked for Comprehensive Systems in Elma. Then moving to New Hampton in 2001, when she joined the residents at New Hampton Comps Systems Group Home. While living in New Hampton she looked forward to her Saturday morning bowling and being the life of the party. In recent years she joined the Charles City Comprehensive System Memory Unit. She enjoyed listening to country music, television, her pet cats, crocheting; but especially going to the Special Olympics. Linda’s pride and joy were her nieces and nephews.

Linda is survived by her brothers, Jim (Barb) Knecht of Marysville, KS, Dale Knecht of Thompson, IA, Dean (Sheila) Knecht of Kalona, IA, Darrell (Cindy) Knecht of Elma; her nieces and nephews; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arnold in 2000 and Helen in 1995; and her brother, Tom Knecht in 2001.
