MERRY--In Cresco, Iowa, Sunday March 28, 1880, after a lingering illness from typhoid fever, Minnie B. daughter of George W. and Wealthy Merry, aged about 11 years.

Obituary Notice of Minnie B. Merry

DAUGHTER OF GEO. W. AND WEALTHY MERRY.

She was born at Pavilion, Kalmazoo County, Mich., February 12, 1869. She possessed a correctness and amiability of disposition that secured her hosts of friends wherever she became acquainted, and an intuitive reverence for goodness and truth that made her shrink from even the slightest deception, and never was she known to tell an untruth, but lived her unselfish, loving life so quietly, so truly, that its influence must remain in the places she has left. She was unusually intelligent, quick to imitate, and so inclined to progress that it was ever a care for her parents to retard her mental growth that she might gain physically. At six years of age she wrote neat and legible letters to her parents, and ever showed remarkable talent in drawing, writing and needlework, as many little articles given by her to her friends, remain to testify. In fact she was known but to be loved and admired, and when we who knew her recall her deep sensitiveness to wrong and unkindness, we can but feel that she has been lovingly taken from many a crushing disappointment in things which seem all true and earnest to the eyes of childhood.

The many friends who lent such kindly services to the family at the time of Minnie’s death, and gave and arranged the beautiful flowers and plants at her burial, are wished by the parents to accept their heartfelt thanks, as we give them in return our truest sympathy.
