DIED.

LANDON.--In Albion township, Iowa, on Saturday morning, February 14th, 1880, of lung fever, Harvey Landon, aged 54 years.

The deceased we think was born in Busti, Chautauqua county, New York. Since the writer was about nine years old until the present time, a period of over forty-five years, he has known him and much of the time intimately. In all the varied relations of life as son, husband, father, brother and neighbor, he has been a true man, a faithful friend, a good citizen. Some twenty or more years since he removed to Wisconsin near Sparta, but finding the country undesirable removed from there into this county and about 15 years ago purchasing a farm, building a home and surrounding it with the comforts of life. He married into a respected family in the town where he was brought up, taking as his chosen life companion Mary Jane Davis, who survives him. He also leaves three sons, two grown to manhood, a third some eights years of age. With them in this sudden and unexpected bereavement we deeply sympathize. As one after another of the many we started out with on the journey of life depart, we are admonished of the rapid flight of time, and of the certainty of an exit from earth and time.
