Funeral services for Harold “Swede” Noe will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday January 7, 2014 at the First Presbyterian Church in LeRoy with the Rev Gary Titusdahl officiating. Private family burial will take place at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Lime Springs, IA at a later date.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until the time of service at the church on Tuesday.Harold Noe, age 91, a long time Chester, IA area resident died Thursday January 2, 2014 at Olmsted Hospital in Rochester, MN.
Harold was born May 19, 1922 in Eddyville, IA to Clyde Noe and Nancy Foster Noe. He attended school through the 10th grade and was united in marriage to Fern Wiggins on March 24, 1940 in Chillicothe, IA. Together they lived in the Grimes, IA area for 10 years before moving to the Chester, IA area in 1951 where he farmed for many years. Harold also owned Noe Milk Routs from 1963 until 1973 at that time he sold it to his son. He later owned Noe Livestock along with his wife Fern.
Harold and Fern loved to travel in their motor home and enjoyed taking his grandchildren fishing and camping. He also enjoyed gardening and canning the fruits of his labors.
He is survived by his children; Marolyn (Hank) Hetrick of Roxton, TX, Carolyn Eddy of Gillette, Wyoming, Judy (Dave) Jacobson of Cresco, IA, Jolene Beddow of Browsnsdale, MN, Jan (Bob) Behnken of South St. Paul, MN, Harold (Carolyn) Noe of Cresco, IA, and Bert (Joy) Noe of Rochester, MN, 16 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Fern in 2000, a grand daughter Melanie Knoff, sons-in-law Jack Beddow and Lonnie Eddy, 3 sisters and 4 brothers.
