DIED.

HOWARD.--In Oregon township, June 9th, 1879, after a lingering illness of many months, John B. Howard, aged 69 years,

The deceased was among the earliest settlers in Howard county, purchasing the farm where he has constantly resided, and where he died, in 1856. Through careful and prudent investments, persevering industry and judicious expenditures he had accumulated an abundance of earth's treasures. These he shared justly and generously in his family, and with his friends. He was a man of strong attachments, which imply that, as with all persons possessing these, he was not devoid of their opposite. He was a good citizen, and an honest man. He leaves a widow and five children to mourn his removal from the shores of time to the realm that began with time and closes with eternity,
