THE EARLY BLESSED.

MILLER--In Lime Springs, Iowa, December 6th, Lottie, infant daughter of Silas A. and Mary Miller, aged 1 year and 6 months.

Lottie was a child of rare promise, possessing an unusual brilliancy for one of her years. A brief illness of a few hours, and her little spirit took its flight to the brighter world, leaving an aching void in the hearts of her parents, who deeply mourn their loss.

Few the days that Lottie numbered,
Ere she dree her closing breath;
And she calmly, sweetly slumbered,
In the cold embrace of death.

In the rosy tint of morning,
Came the swift winged angel bright,
And quickly bore her spirit joying,
To the realms of endless light.

On the bosom still and heaveless
Once so full of mirth and glee,
Rests the hand in marbel-whiteness
Once so grasping, earnest, free.

She was the treasure of our hearts,
The star to beacon us along:
But now we feel the bitter smart,
And she can sing a seraph song.

Oh! how we'll miss her little prattle,
Restless, teasing, tearful bliss,
And her little footstep's patter
And her clinging, hugging kiss.

Yes, we'll miss her at the table,
In her little vacant chair,
And her little midnight "snuggle,"
Oh! we'll miss her everywhere.

"Parents, foud, bereaved and stricken,
Sad and lone will be they way;
But tis God who thus has bidden;
He can give and take away.

He saw the luring snares and strife,
Which would compass her bright life.
To save her from temptation's power,
He snatched her in life's sweetest hour.

But list, believe His precious promise,
"Be ye faithful until I come,
Then with Lottie in My manirion,
You shall wear a starry crown."
