DIED

Dec. 8, 1871, Fannie L. wife of J. N. Medbery of Lime Springs. Aged 28 years 5 months 22days.

She has fled, she has fled, like the dew drops
of morning,

Before the warm rays of the mid summer sun,

She has fled like the rosebud that opened, adorning,

And withered and died when its beauty begun.

She has gone to the land where all sighing and sorrow

Are past, and each tear is wiped from the eye

She has gone where her Savior ascended before her,

To the bright fields of glory where flowers ne'er die.

She has gone where the ancient bards sing on the mountains

Of Zion, the might and the triumph of God,

Where the waters of life bubble fresh from the fountain,

And none but the pure and the holy have trod.

She has gone to recline in the evergreen bower,

Be fanned by the spicy winds, flitting in air,

Where the leve of the savior decends like a shower,

Shall move on her soul in its ecstacy there.

She has gone to the streams that so smoothly are straying

O'er banks of sweet flowers that reach to the sky.

While on their bright surface soft eddies are playing.

And over their bosom young turtle doves fly.

She has gone to rejoice in the bright beams of favor

That gladden the courts of the palace above.

She has gone to recline on the breast of her savior,

And lisp in his ear the soft breathings of love.
