Louis T. Aberg Sr., died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Theo. Gunderson southeast of Cresco, Tuesday, Aug. 26. He was born in Sog, Norway, Oct. 12, 1858, and at his death was 71 years, 10 months and 14 days old.
He was the son of Thomas Aberg and wife Martha (nee Aberg). He was baptized and confirmed before coming to America. At the age of 21 he came to Grant county, Wis., and later moved to Chickasaw county, Iowa, where he married Miss Anna Iverson on Sep. 15, 1884. To this union were born ten children. Two children died in infancy. His wife died about ten years ago and his daughter, Inger, Mrs. John Hammer, passed away on June 6 last. Seven children are left to mourn his passing: Mrs. Otto Gunderson, Austin, Minn., Mrs. Theo Aberg, Cresco; Henry Aberg, Lime Springs, Louis Aberg, Detroit, Mich.; Mrs. Theodore Crawford, Austin,; Marcus Aberg, Detroit, Mich.; also thirty grandchildren; also one sister; Mrs. Ole Iverson of New Hampton and two brothers, William and Thomas of Clarinda, Ia. All of the above were present at the funeral except his two brothers and the boys at Detroit. He was sick only four days.
The funeral was held from the home and to the First Lutheran church of Cresco on Friday morning, Aug. 29. It was in charge of the pastor H. M. Normann, Cresco. The remains were interred in the Oaklawn cemetery east of Cresco beside that of his wife.
