DIED.

FRIEND.--In New Oregon, Iowa, April 10, 1877, Phebe A. Friend, wife of Thomas Friend, aged about 43 years.

Mr. Friend, with his family moved from Oshawa, Canada, to this place a few days since, and he had just purchased the farm of S. M. Cole, onto which he had moved with his family. Mrs. Friend was taken sick the next day after and departed life on the 10th inst. Mr. Friend in his deep affliction in the land of strangers is entitled to and will have the sympathies of the people.
