Boyd Edmund Bollman age 72 of Cresco, died Tuesday, October 15, 2013, at his home after a short battle with cancer.

Friends may greet the family 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday, October 18, 2013, at the Heritage Events Center, 229 3rd Ave. West, in Cresco, where there will be a 7:30 p.m. prayer service.

Private family inurnment will take place at a later date at the Kendallville Eddy Cemetery.

Boyd Edmund Bollman was born March 4, 1941, on the family farm in rural Allamakee County, IA, the son of Beacher and Beulah (McClintock) Bollman. He received his education in rural country schools. On October 12, 1963, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Lourdes, IA, he married the love of his life, Mary Hyke. To this union five children were born. The couple lived in the Cresco area their entire married lives. He will be remembered by his family for his building and repairing skills. He loved all his occupations throughout his life. Boyd's true passions were outdoor activities. He was an avid hunter, trapper and fisherman. He and his wife, Mary, just celebrated their 50th Anniversary together on the Saturday preceding his death.

Survivors include his wife, Mary; three sons, Richard (Carol) Bollman, Ronald (Laura) Bollman, all of Cresco, Donald Bollman of La Crescent, MN; two daughters, Laura Bollman of Byron, MN, Lisa (Zach) Diersen of Solon, IA; thirteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Bonnie (LeRoy) Jones of Harpers Ferry, IA, Beverly Bollman of Silverton, OR.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
