Anna, 92, died Sunday, January 11, 2004 at the Regional Health Services Hospital in Cresco after having suffered a stroke.

Anna Jane Havel was born March 6, 1911 on a farm south of Cresco in New Oregon Township, the daughter of Joseph and Marie (Pecinovsky) Pecinovsky. She attended rural school through the early grades. Since there was such a large family, she had to quit school and work at various homes to make a living.

She is survived by two daughters: Janet Andera and Diane Pecinovsky, both of Cresco; seven grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one sister: Grace Roszell of Waterloo.

Anna was preceded in death by her husband Frank on January 10, 1982; one granddaughter; one great-granddaughter; her parents; three brothers: George, Ernest, and infant Eddie; and six sisters: Ida Voves, May Betts, Clara Horn, infant Frances, infant Caroline, and infant Elsie Pecinovsky.
