Martha Clark, age 87, of Cresco, Iowa passed away Tuesday, October 01, 2013 at the Cresco Care Center, Cresco, Iowa.

Visitation for Martha will be held Saturday, October 5, 2013 from 3:00 until 6:00 p.m. at the Hindt-Hudek Funeral Home 404 North Elm Street Cresco, Iowa.

Martha Hosek was born September 4, 1926 to William and Mayme (Praska) Hosek in Howard County, Iowa. She attended a rural country school until the 8th grade. On August 13, 1945, Martha was united in marriage to Joseph Clark in Protivin, Iowa at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. For most of Martha’s life, she was a homemaker helping out on the farm. For 9 years, she worked as a nurse’s aide at the hospital in Cresco. Martha enjoyed word game books, car rides, NASCAR and Tony Stewart, and listening to Polka music. For the last two years, Martha has resided at the Cresco Care Center.

Martha is survived by her 6 daughters, Virginia Clark of Woodbury, MN, Elaine (Roger) Brookins of Cresco, IA, Karen (Bruce) Jacobs of Shell Rock, IA, Patricia Clark of Lino Lakes, MN, Debra (John) Hayward of Sheboygan, WI, and Lynette (Dan) Thornburg of Des Moines, IA; grandchildren, Connie Axvig, Corrie (Larry) Barnabo, Cindy (Mike) Yslas, Barry Brookins, Aaron Folkert, Beth (Kip) Powers, Hilory (Craig) Harding, Kim (Steve) Jacobsen, Zack (Melissa) Jacobs, Uriah Jacobs, Sara Schiller, Daniel Schiller, and Kristin (Elvedin) Babic; 17 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and brothers-in-law Zenas Meyer and Ted Crow both of Cresco, IA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Joseph, and sisters, Dorothy Meyer and Mildred Crow.
