Services held for Emma Anderson

Funeral services for Emma Anderson of Clinton, formerly of the Northeast Iowa area were held at 3:00 p.m. at Orleans Lutheran Church in rural Ridgeway with Rev. Phillip and Ginny Olson officiating. Interment was in Oak Lawn Cemetery in Cresco. Pallbearers were John Hove, Anon Anderson, Dave Lundak, Allyn Linderbaum, Dave Aga, Gerald Anderson, Alan Peter, and Vern Meyer. Honorary pallbearers were Helen Carolan and Arlene Rue. Lindstrom Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

Emma, 81, died Wednesday, July 30, 2003 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law in Fulton, IL.

Emma M. Anderson was born May 8, 1922 in Orleans Township, the daughter of Herbert and Lena (Bigalk) Anderson. She was baptized at Orleans Lutheran Church on May 21, 1922 and confirmed at Orleans in June of 1936. She was a graduate of Ridgeway High School.

On April 2, 1946 she married Palmer Anderson ar Orleans Lutheran Church.

Emma's primary vocation in life was as a homemaker. She also was a Home Health Aide in the Cresco area for several years.

She was a member of Orleans Lutheran Church and an associate member of Zion Lutheran Church in Clinton.

She is survived by one daughter: Beverly Smith of Fulton, IL; one son: Jerry of Cedar Rapids; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters: Irene Hove of Ridgeway and Alice Anderson of Des Moines; and one brother: Raymond Anderson of Fredericksburg.

Emma was preceded in death by her husband Palmer; one grandson; her parents; and one brother: Gerald.
