Stanley Baldwin, 70

ENNIS,TX - A memorial service for Stanley Baldwin of Ennis, TX, formerly of Cresco, IA will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, July 24, 2009 at the Lindstrom Funeral Home in Cresco. Friends may gather at the funeral home on hour prior to services.

Lindstrom Funeral Home in Cresco is handling the arrangements.

Stanley died Thursday, July 16, 2009 at LifeCare in Houston, TX. On June 17, 2009 he became ill and was admitted to the Ennis Regional Hospital of Dallas, TX. After spending 29 days in the hospital, his life was cut short at the age of 70.

Stanley Baldwin was born March 4, 1939 in Cresco, IA the son of Ira Judd and Della (Potter) Baldwin. He attended Cresco Schools and was raised by his father. In February 1957 he joined and served in the United States Navy. In 1960 he married Leone Kilby. Two sons were born to this union, Clark and Corey. In December 1985 he moved to Ennis, TX due to his job.

Stan loved fishing, the outdoors, or just standing around visiting. He took many trips to Canada fishing with his friends and sons. One of his favorite times was going to Galveston with his wife fishing for flounder, which was his favorite fish to eat. He did this for 23 years. He also loved his computer, buying and selling, and getting emails from his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife Marjorie (Hesse) Baldwin; two sons: Clark (Rhonda) Baldwin of Menomonie, WI, and Corey of Cresco, IA; four grandchildren: Clint, Jared, Brandon, and Danielle; four step children: Donna (Larry) Quam of Decorah, IA, Debbie (Joe) Kaiser of Bangor, WI, Steve (Anita) Hesse of Decorah, IA, and Tammy Wirick of St. Louis, MO; 12 step grandchildren including Alex, Bethany, and KaLee Blaess; along with two step great-grandchildren.

Stan was preceded in death by one daughter, Susan Baldwin; one granddaughter: Sarah Elizabeth; his parents; three brothers; and five sisters.
