Services to be held for Richard Jones

Funeral services for Richard Jones of Manteno, IL and formerly of Waukegan, IL and the LeRoy, MN area will be held at the Hindt Funeral Home in LeRoy with Rev. Don Flaten officiating. Interment will be in the LeRoy Lutheran Cemetery.

Richard, 96, died Saturday December 25, 2004 at the Illinois Veterans Home in Manteno.

Richard Benjamen Jones was born October 9, 1908 in Howard County, the son of Benjamen and Elizabeth (Stevens) Jones. He graduated from Cresco High School. He farmed in the Cresco area. Richard served 20 years in the U.S. Army and received a Bronze Star for Meritous Achievement during World War II and retired in October of 1964.

He is survived by three children: Beverly Valencic of Waukegan, IL., Richard of Loves Park, IL., and Thomas of Tamuning, Guam; one step daughter: Fern Milspaugh of Pleasonton, CA., 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and one sister: Norma Johnson of Minnesota.

Richard was preceded in death by his first wife: Edith Denny; second wife: Oma Frosh; two children: Herbert Jones and Patricia Pichelmann; two grandchildren; his parents; and one sister: Ruth Sanderson.
