SPRINGVILLE
Stephen Rose, 56, formerly of Cresco, died Sept. 5 at his home in Springville, Iowa after a long battle with cancer.

Stephen Rose was born Oct. 29, 1954, the son of Gerald and Arletta (Grimm) Rose. He attended St. Joseph Elementary School and graduated from Crestwood High School in 1973. He worked in Cresco and moved to Cedar Rapids to attend Kirkwood Community College. He worked for Wilson Meat Packing Co. which was later sold to Farmstead. He became a construction worker on streets and roads and eventually became employed for the city of Cedar Rapids for 15 years up to the time of his illness.

On May 19, 1979, he married Pam Price in Cedar Rapids.

Stephen loved fishing, hunting, gardening, especially roses and woodworking. He enjoyed spending time with his family and his grandchildren.

Stephen is survived by his wife, Pam; two sons: Andy (Tiffany) Rose of Centerville, Iowa and Ryan (Brooke) Rose of Marion; one daughter; Ashley (Mark) Luzinski of Springville, Iowa; his parents; two brothers: Jim (Tammy) Rose of Centerville and Joe Rose of Cresco; one sister: Sharon (T-J) Shields of Lakeville, Minn.; and four grandchildren.
