GOODRICH.--At Buffalo, New York, February 2nd, 1873, MRS. NANCY GOODRICH, aged 72 years.
The deceased will be remembered by our people as the mother of Judge Goodrich and Joseph Goodrich of this place, she having been here during a year or more, with the Judge and his family. She was a woman as those know who had the pleasure of her acquaintance, possessed of sterling qualities of head and heart; such a friend and mother as it is commendable that friends should cherish, and children venerate the memory of. Her residence began in the city of Buffalo, at a time that went back to the infancy of Western New York. Her acquaintances, connections and associates were of the pioneers of that city, then looked upon as "the far West." In the brief period of time allotted to her has has{?} been developed and carried out the mighty schemes in science and the great events in the progress of our country, that are now fixed upon such an enduring foundation, that to the young they seem to have had an existence of ages.
In religious beliefs she was an Episcopalian, with long years of honorable connection with that church. How such events, transferring the cherished friends of earth to a better world, lessens the dread of entering there, and the pleasure of remaining here.
