ISAIAH WOOD, late editor of the Austin Democrat, died at his residence on Tuesday morning the 11th, after a long and painful illness.

About eleven years ago he worked in the PLAIN DEALER Office, continuing in our employ over two years. No truer friend or more faithful employee than "Zeb" as he was familiarly called, ever had a sit or mounted a tripod.

Cut down in the prime of life, with a bright future of usefulness suddenly cut off, he leaves, to mourn, his untimely departure, a young wife, and a host of friends embracing all who knew him as we did.
