Robert E. Wilcox, Former Cresco Man, Died in McIntire Funeral Services Held Thursday in Baptist Church. Lived Here 1939-42

Robert E. Wilcox, age 75, a former Cresco resident, died last Tuesday afternoon in his home in McIntire.

Funeral services were held on Thursday afternoon in the McIntire Baptist church with the Rev. Charles Fox of Riceville, in charge. Burial was in the Leroy cemetery.

Robert Ezra Wilcox, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Wilcox, Sr., was born December 23, 1871, in Sommerville, New Jersey. He was the youngest of five children, of whom but one, a brother George Wilcox of Riceville, survives.

When he was four years old, the Wilcox family moved from New Jersey to a farm in Oak Dale township. He married Anna Staudinger October 12, 1899, and they were the parents of six children, two daughters and four sons.

The family lived on a farm near Leroy until 1939 when Mr. and Mrs. Wilcox moved to Cresco. They lived here until 1943 when they moved to McIntire, where Mr. Wilcox died.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters, and three sons who died in infancy.

There are living his widow, two daughters, Mrs. Grace Patten of Leroy, and Mrs. Mabel Livezy of Tracy, and one son Carl Wilcox of McIntire. There are also twelve grandchildren.
