Former Resident Died in Washington
Mrs. Edward Donahue, 72, the former Clara Frances Isaacs, daughter of a pioneer Cresco couple, died October 9, 1947 in Seattle, Washington.
She was one of ten children of Mr. and Mrs. B. Isaacs and was born in Cresco, July 26, 1875. She received her education in the public school and the Assumption parochial school of Cresco, and she taught in the rural schools of Howard county for several years.
She was married to Edward Donahue, who was for a long time a Saint Paul grocer. For the last 30 years she made her home in Seattle.
Surviving her are two children, a son, Father Norman, a Jesuit missionary in Alaska, and a daughter, Dorothy Donahue who lives in Seattle.
There are also three of her brothers, Louis N. Isaacs of Camp Paso, Montana, William J. Isaacs of Chicago, Illinois, and Edward V. Isaacs of Washington D.C., and four sisters, Mr. E.E. Flood of Chicago, Illinois, Mrs. Ed Gerrt of Mount View, California, Mrs. Louis Privat of Peoria, Illinois, and Mrs. Egbert Cairns of Springfield, Illinois.
Funeral services, with a solemn requiem high mass sung by her son, Father Norman, were held in Seattle, October 11, and she was buried in the Calvary cemetery in Seattle.
