Mrs. John Pelikan, 73, Funeral at Schley
A requiem mass will be held tomorrow (Thursday) in the Schley Holy Cross Catholic church for Mrs. John (Stella) Pelikan, 73, of Cresco, who died in the Cresco hospital Sunday following an illness of several years.
Offering the requiem mass was the Rev. Francis A. Lana, pastor. Burial was in the Holy Cross cemetery with the Peckosh Funeral home in charge of the funeral arrangements.
Mrs. Pelikan, the former Stella Shileny, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Shileny, was born at Little Turkey, July 25, 1893. She attended the rural school at Little Turkey and was married to John Pelikan, at Little Turkey, in 1914.
Mr. and Mrs. Pelikan became the parents of three children, all of whom survive. Mrs. Pelikan was a member of the Schley Holy Cross church and the Altar and Rosary society.
Surviving Mrs. Pelikan are her sons, Godlove Pelikan of Waverly, Frank Pelikan of Cresco, and Clem Pelikan of Decorah, and one brother, Joe Shileny of Cedar Rapids.
Relatives from Cedar Rapids, Waverly, Decorah, Spillville, Duncan, Little Turkey and Charles City attended the services.
