Attack fatal to Mrs. Joseph Opat

Funeral services for Mrs. Joseph Opat, 49, of Cresco, who died of a heart attack suffered in her home early Sunday morning, were held from the Schley Holy Cross Catholic church yesterday morning,

The requiem mass was offered by the Rev. Clement Burke, assistant pastor, and burial was made in the church cemetery. The Peckosh Funeral home was in charge of the funeral services.

Mrs. Opat, the former Loretta Mae Koudelka, daughter of Mrs. Mary Koudelka and the late Frank Koudelka, was born July 14, 1912. She attended rural schools of the county.

She was married to Joseph Opat in the Protivin Holy Trinity Catholic church October 11, 1932.

Mr. and Mrs. Opat became the parents of two children. Mrs. Opat was a member of the Schley church and the Rosary society.

Surviving Mrs. Opat are her husband and two children, Raphael Opat of Cresco and Mrs. James (Evelyn) Lindquist of Manchester, besides four grandchildren, Rhonda and Ricky Lindquist, and Dennis and Julie Opat.

There are also four brothers and one sister, Clarence Koudelka of Elma, and Leonard, Adolph and August Koudelka of Cresco, and Mrs. Lewis Gebel of Lawler.

Six nephews of Mrs. Opat, Sylvester Opat, Thomas Koudelka, William Korbel, John Foley, Eldred Rethamel and Mike Foley, Jr., served as pall bearers.
