Services for Mrs. Frances Ondrasek Monday Morning

A requiem mass was offered in the Cresco Saint Joseph Catholic church Monday morning for Mrs. Frances Ondrasek, 78, of Cresco, who died in the Cresco hospital Saturday morning following a four-month illness.

Offering the funeral mass was the pastor, the Rev. Roman Schares. Burial was in the Holy Cross cemetery at Schley. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Peckosh Funeral home.

Mrs. Ondrasek, the former Frances Malek, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Malek, was born near Schley November 9, 1886. She attended Howard county rural school and was later married to James Ondrasek October 17, 1904. Mr. and Mrs. Ondrasek became the parents of two children, one of whom survives.

Mr. and Mrs. Ondrasek farmed north of Cresco before retiring and moving to Cresco. Mr. Ondrasek died December 8, 1961.

The Cresco woman was a member of the Saint Joseph church and the Altar and Rosary society.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Leonard (Gertrude) Wendl of Cresco, besides two grandchildren, Joe Wendl of Fredericksburg, and Dick Wendl of Boone, and three great-grandchildren.

There are two sisters, Mrs. Celia Lentz and Mrs. Joseph (Carrie) Ondrasek, both of Cresco.

Preceding the Cresco woman in death, in addition to her husband, was a son, Edward, and three brothers and two sisters.

Out-of-town relatives and friends attending the services were from Bloomer, Wisconsin, and Boone, Fredericksburg, Elma, Spillville, Lawler, Protivin, Riceville, Ridgeway and New Hampton.
